Types of Airbreather Fish That Can Live in Aquariums Without Air Pumps

Could the fish live in an aquarium without an air pump? Apparently possible, because there are several types of fish that can breathe with water and air as well. This fish is a type of Airbreather or breathe with air and water.

1. The Family of Gurami

Keep this fish as a couple in the aquarium, do not put 2 males because it can sometimes cause problems. 
This is a calm fish so you do not have to stick with the aggressive fish, otherwise the fish will retreat to the corner and lose its beautiful color. 



2. Arowana 

Is an expensive aquarium fish. These are tongue-boned or freshwater fish and from the family Osteoglossidae. Sometimes Arwana is called a dragon fish because its scales are colorful, metallic and reflective. The beautiful Arowana is also known as bonytongues.

In this fish family, the head is a bone and the elongated body is covered by large and heavy scales, with mosaic or canal patterns. The dorsal fin and anal fin have a soft and long rays based on, while pectoral fins and small abdomen. The name "bonytongues" comes from the tongue of the mouth, tongue of mouth. Arowana is respiratory facultative air and can obtain oxygen from the bladder, which is coated with capillaries such as lung tissue.
