On Feb. 23, Joy-Anna Duggar welcomed a healthy baby boy with her husband, Austin Forsyth,
but it didn't come without complications. Their home birth took a scary
turn when the couple's mid-wife informed them that their baby was
breech. After 20 hours of labor, the Counting On star was rushed to the hospital
for an emergency C-section. Although the conservative family is known
to give birth in the comfort of their own home, fans are now concerned
that they won't be so lucky the next time around.
Someone commented on an article posted by In Touch about Joy's experience and slammed the family for their "botched" home birth. "Just another botched home birth," the Facebook user wrote. "Just a matter of time before someone dies." In response, another commented, "Yep! I don't care who you are, home birth is truly irresponsible. I was planning to have a natural/water birth and had a healthy pregnancy. I went way overdue and needed an emergency C-section after a three-day failed induction. Without being in that hospital, my son and I would definitely be dead." A third agreed, "Took them 20 hours to figure out the baby was breech. This is what happens when they don't use medical professionals."
